Circle of Seven Longhorns

How Circle of Seven Ranch Began

Believe it or not, when David and I bought this property, it looked like a "haunted ranch". It had been empty and for sale for some time and when it was further damaged by Hurricane Harvey, it was left in serious disrepair. All the main structures were in place, and it had good "bones", but all the structures and the fencing needed to be repaired to function as a ranch.

David fell in love with the oak tree-lined drive and with the "opportunity" to make this into our dream home. I was not so sure... but we bought it anyway.

Even though we both had full-time jobs, on the weekends and any day we could after work, we would spend all of our time at the ranch. It was back-breaking work. â€‹

As we fixed up the property and the homes, I started to see the beauty in the land. And when we bought our original seven longhorns, I was hooked!

BTW- the calves in the picture below are Brandy and OJ sitting by what is now the wishing well in our garden.

When David and I thought about how we could turn this property into our business, our realtor and our sister-in-law suggested to create a venue. David & I laughed off the notion, since we did not see the property as "wedding worthy." But as we cleaned out the old cattle pole barn and ranch hand room, watching the sunsets as we worked, we started wondering... "Could this be a venue?"

So, even though neither David or I had any experience in the wedding industry, we decided to take a giant leap of faith and open our ranch as a wedding venue.

Well, now, four years later and with over 150 weddings held at our ranch, we feel like we made the right decision. It is an honor to provide our ranch as a backdrop for so many weddings.

We have been so lucky to have the support of our family and friends throughout the years. We could not have done all of this without their help.

Above all, we consider ourselves lucky in being able to work as a family and to be a small part of one of the most important days of a person's life, their wedding.
